ECF-SYEP

On April 6, 2010, the Los Angeles Board of County Supervisors approved a motion to allow the
utilization of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Emergency Contingency Funds
(ECF) to provide summer youth employment opportunities for qualifying youth. Door of Hope is utilizing
this grant money to help thousands of youth across Los Angeles get jobs.

I.L.P.

The Department of Human Services (DHS), Social Services Division, Child Welfare Services Branch
(CWSB), provides services, through our independent living program (ILP), to assist and support foster
youth, age 12-18 years, under DHS placement responsibility due to abuse and neglect and former foster
youth, 18-21 years of age, with their transition from foster care to adult self-sufficiency.

High School

This program is designed for students ages 14-17 years old who cannot attend regular high school
classes (for various reasons). The students that sign up for our classes and meet the required credits will
be able to graduate from high school including a commencement ceremony using cap and gown.
